This Privacy Policy explains how CaloriePlanning LLC ("CaloriePlanning," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use the CaloriePlanning website at calorieplanning.com and the web application at app.calorieplanning.com (together, the "Service").

CaloriePlanning is a small, single-founder business. We try to collect only what we need to run the Service. If anything here is unclear, contact us at support@calorieplanning.com. By using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

What CaloriePlanning Is (and Is Not)

CaloriePlanning is a subscription tool that helps adults plan calories, macronutrients, and a calorie deficit or surplus to work toward body-composition goals.

CaloriePlanning is not a medical or healthcare service, is not a substitute for professional advice, and does not provide diagnosis or treatment. We are not a "covered entity" or "business associate" under HIPAA, and the information you enter is not treated as protected health information under that law. The data you provide is, however, personal to you, and we treat the more sensitive parts of it with extra care.

Information We Collect

Information you provide

• Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials. Passwords are handled through our authentication provider and stored in hashed (not plain-text) form.
• Profile and body-metric information. To generate your plan, you may provide details such as age, sex, height, current weight, body-fat percentage, body measurements, activity level, goal weight or goal body composition, and the plans you create or save.
• Communications. If you email us at support@calorieplanning.com, we keep your messages and our replies.

Information collected automatically

• Usage and device information. IP address, browser type, device and operating system, pages or screens viewed, actions taken, referring pages, and timestamps.
• Cookies and local storage. Used to keep you signed in and operate the Service (see below).

Payment information

When you subscribe, payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not collect or store your full card number, CVC, or other complete payment-card details on our own systems. We receive limited billing-related information from Stripe — such as subscription status, the last four digits of your card, card brand, expiration, and billing country. Stripe's privacy practices are at https://stripe.com/privacy.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to: create and manage your account and authenticate you; generate, save, and display your plans; process subscriptions, payments, renewals, and refunds (through Stripe); provide support; send transactional and service emails (verification, password resets, receipts, important changes); operate, maintain, secure, debug, and improve the Service; detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents; and comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your body-composition or health-adjacent data to make decisions about you outside of providing the planning features you asked for, and we do not sell it.

If you are in a region that requires a legal basis for processing (such as the EEA or UK), we rely on: performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests, your consent (where we ask for it), and compliance with legal obligations.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal data and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only in these limited situations:

Service providers (sub-processors)

• Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage.
• Vercel — application hosting and content delivery.
• Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing.
• Resend — transactional and service emails.

We do not currently use a third-party analytics provider; if we add one, we will update this Privacy Policy and the list above. These providers may store and process data in the United States and possibly other countries.

Legal and safety

We may disclose information if we believe in good faith it is necessary to comply with law or legal process, enforce our terms, or protect the rights, property, or safety of CaloriePlanning, our users, or the public.

Business transfers

If CaloriePlanning is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy.

Cookies and Local Storage

We use cookies and similar browser storage only for strictly necessary purposes — keeping you signed in and operating core features. We do not currently use analytics, advertising, or other non-essential cookies. You can control or block cookies through your browser, but blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent you from signing in. Where required, we honor recognized opt-out preference signals (such as Global Privacy Control).

Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify your account and body-metric data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain limited information for legitimate business or legal reasons. Billing records may be retained by us and by Stripe as required for tax and accounting compliance. Backups and logs may persist for a limited time before they expire.

How We Protect Your Information

We take reasonable, industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), encryption at rest provided by our infrastructure partners, hashed password storage, and database-level access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong, unique password and keep your credentials confidential.

Health-Adjacent and Body-Composition Data

Some information you provide — weight, body-fat percentage, measurements, and goals — is personal and health-adjacent. We collect it only to provide the planning features you ask for; we do not sell, rent, or use it for advertising; and we do not share it except with the service providers necessary to operate the Service. You can view, edit, export, or delete it at any time. Where your jurisdiction treats such data as sensitive, your provision of it serves as your consent for us to process it for the purposes described here. Please share only what you are comfortable sharing.

Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export/port, and object to or restrict processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. You can edit most profile and body-metric data directly in the app. For any request, email support@calorieplanning.com from the address associated with your account; we will respond within the timeframe required by law. We may need to verify your identity. You will not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.

Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for adults aged 18 and older. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, contact support@calorieplanning.com and we will delete it.

International Users

CaloriePlanning is operated from the United States, and our providers store and process data primarily in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States and possibly other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.

Third-Party Links

The Service may link to third-party sites we do not control. This Privacy Policy does not apply to them; please review their policies before providing information.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you by email or through the Service.
